DDMC Championship Race Meeting
Croft 8-9th May 2010
This weekend Croft and DDMC played host to rounds of the BRSCC Formula Jedi Championship, BRSCC Mighty Mini Championship, BRSCC Super Mighty Mini Championship, DDMC NSSCC and the Britcar GT/Production race.
BRSCC Formula Jedi
As always, the Jedi racecars showed some raw pace around the full Croft Circuit.
Race 1 of the weekend (on Saturday and the first of the Formula Jedi rounds) ended with Richard Gittings, Andrew Dunn and Scott Stevens taking the top three places.
Race 9 of the weekend (on Sunday and the second of the Formula Jedi rounds) ended with Andrew Dunn, Daniel Cook and Stuart Abbott taking the top three places.
BRSCC Mighty Mini
Both Mighty Mini races were entering to watch, with constant lead changes in each.
Race 2 of the weekend (on Saturday and the first of the Mighty Mini rounds) ended with Louise Inch, Peter Tervet and Matt Pinny taking the top three places.
Race 6 of the weekend (on Sunday and the second of the Mighty Mini rounds) ended with Matt Pinny, Peter Bonas and Anthony Ford taking the top three places.
BRSCC Super Mighty Mini
The field in both Super Mighty Mini races was a little bit more spread out than in the two Mighty Mini races, with tactics ultimately deciding the outcome of the races.
Race 3 of the weekend (on Saturday and the first of the Super Mighty Mini rounds) ended with Chris Morgan, Scott Kendall and Neven Kirkpatrick taking the top three places
Race 7 of the weekend (on Sunday and the second of the Super Mighty Mini rounds) ended with Chris Morgan, Neven Kirkpatrick and Gary Patterson taking the top three places
DDMC NSSCC
As always, the NSSCC grids were full of different and interesting cars. Porsche GT3’s were seen having battles with highly tuned Subaru Impreza and Caterham R400’s, proving that the formula DDMC are working with is the right way forward.
Race 4 of the weekend (on Saturday and the first of the NSSCC rounds) ended with Mark Campbell, Colin Simpson and Bill Addison taking the top three places.
Race 8 of the weekend (on Sunday and the second of the NSSCC rounds) ended with David Headen, Andrew Morrison and Bill Addison taking the top three places.
Britcar GT/Britcar Production
It was good to see the wide variety of cars brought along by the Britcar series. All the teams presented well turned out machines and were seen to put on a good endurance race for the Croft spectators. Rolling starts, pitstops and driver changes brought a different kind of racing to Croft Circuit and hopefully we’ll see an even bigger grid next year.
Race 5 of the weekend (on Sunday and the only Britcar race) ended with the Gamski/Robinson Ferrari, the Huggins/Fiorentino Marcos and the Gent/Clark BMW taking the top three places.
