DDMC ATTRACTS EXCELLENT ENTRY

The 2010 Touring Car and British Superbike meetings may have passed but there is still a bit more excitement for Croft Fans to enjoy.

The Darlington & District Motor Club take up the baton over the weekend of 25th & 26th September and have attracted over 200 competitors.

With 70+ entries in the Ma5da Championship there is sure to be a repeat of their last visit with not a few cars requiring bodywork repairs. The nature of the cars means very close racing and the consequent mistakes! The Scottish Mini Coopers always provide close, slipstreaming racing whilst the Monopostos provide high speed single seater action. The MG Cockshoot Cup gives a flavour of classic 70s motorsport leaving the Northern Saloon & Sports Car Championship and the Scottish Saloon & Sports Cars to provide the modern day entertainment.

In fact the popularity of the NSSCC has meant that a full grid of 36 registered competitors left no room for visiting cars and they consequently join the Scottish contingent. This is the final weekend for a very hotly contested NSSCC and previous Champion, Paul Moss, currently heads the table with Ian Humpish not far behind. In fact all the classes are yet to be decided so the racing could be fraught.

Racing will kick off at 2 pm on Saturday following a morning of qualification and again at 1 pm on Sunday. There will also be a grid walk on Sunday.

Anyone driving a Mazda to the circuit will enjoy a reduced price admission, infield parking and a parade lap of the circuit on Sunday morning.

And don’t forget Supporters Club members also get reduced price admission.

BARC finish off the race season on 9th & 10th October with Palmer Audi, Legends and 250cc MSA Karts and then, to end the year on a high note, the Northallerton AC Christmas Stages utilises every bit of tarmac to provide 8 demanding stages.
