Dave Coates Stunt Show – Sat 30 April 2011

Dave Coates brought his Yamaha propelled stunt show to a recent Croft track day and proceded to amuse and amaze by demonstarting his complete mastery and defiance of the laws of Physics.

He began the show on two wheels by ’skiing’ on titanium plates worn over his boots.

The resulting showers of sparks were easily able to compete with the bright sunshine.

There followed some very laid back riding,

stoppies,

stoppies with one hand – holding the ‘wrong’ side of the handlebars

near vertical wheelies

and of course

lots of smoky doughnuts.

After the solo bike, Dave brought the Yamaha quad into action using a similar formula. Professor Brian Cox could no doubt have explained what was going on but most of the rest of us just relaxed and enjoyed the spectacle.

Much of it involved having about half the normal number of tyres touching the road such as

just the rear ones

or just the ones on one side or the other.

As with the solo, a real crowd pleaser was performing a stunt while ‘high fiving’ the audience.

It all left Dave with a smile on his face and it certainly delighted the spectators.
