Reigning champion Ryuichi Kiyonari seldom seems to have much luck at Croft
Local boy Barry Burrell of Bishop Auckland performed well on his BMW in the Evo class.

Michael Rutter on his Ducatti shows no signs whatsoever of slowing down.
Michael Laverty of the Guisborough based Swan Yamaha team ran out of luck.
Shane ‘Shakey’ Byrne was flying. However an engine failure put him out of race 1.

American John Hopkins had a great weekend with 2 trips to the podium
Nursing his recent injuries, Tommy Hill showed his mettle with two gritty performances.
Gary Mason made a welcome return to the podium.
BSB Final
‘Shakey’ Byrne partly made up for his mechanical failure in race 1 by running away with race 2.
This is the closest anyone got to ‘Shakey’ in race 2.
Byrne takes the centre of the podium after race 2 flanked by (right) John Hopkins and (left) Stuart Easton. Easton had at serious accident at the NW 200 a few days later but his recovery may well be aided by the promise of a bike from Paul Bird for next season.
