Cycle Racing 7th June 2011 week 9
Following immediately after a hailstorm and under a leaden sky riven by lightning,
the Juveniles shrugged off the weather and began the night’s racing.
Mercifully the weather improved
and the young riders were able to reap the rewards for their efforts,
without bad track conditions
Spoiling their efforts
The seniors started with a rainbow as a backdrop on a damp but drying track
and immediately got down to business.
Hard work by groups
and individuals
saw larger groups forming later in the race.
With no-one escaping off the front this week, the final, bunch sprint went to a delighted Harry Tanfield
Second place went to Rob Carter from Matt Kipling, closely followed by William Haynes, Alex Bottomley and Andy Miles.
