Cycle Racing – 14th June 2011 week 10
Better weather than last week saw an even larger than normal set of Juveniles take to the track, riding the motor racing way round the track for a change.
The accent as usual was on effort
and enjoyment.
One particularly large group formed,
and while it was obviously still a race
The members of the group should be congratulated on their riding skill in such close proximity to each other.
I fear this may not necessarily be repeated at the Touring Cars this weekend!
The Senior race which followed continued as is customary by providing racing for all.
Small groups formed
some of which combined into larger groups.
Once that had happened the attacks began
A significant break of four attacked from the leading group
and at the finish line they dived either side of slower riders with the victory going to a delighted David Johnson (extreme left), two fifths of a second ahead of an equally pleased Kevin Byers (extreme right) with Rob Carter third.
Hot on their heels came a bunch headed by Mike Dales, Rick King, Steven Maxwell and Liam Armstrong.
They finished in that order and covered by about a third of a second. Ah the beauty of transponders!
