Croft Circuit Cycle Races 21st July 2011 - Round 15
The final races of the TLI series took place on a dry track once again and there were huge numbers of Juveniles present to see out this year’s series in fine style.
They set off at the customary brisk pace
trying to end the season on a high.
The inclusive character of the series was shown by the sea of happy faces at the presentation
where there seemed to be an award
for everyone who had participated
Indeed the presentation was so inclusive that by the time I got out, there were just seven laps to go in the senior race which was being conducted at a very brisk pace.
A group of four was forming a the front
with a hectic pursuit hard on their heels.
As we have sometimes seen before, this group managed to hold on to their slender lead
and it culminated in the closest
and I do mean closest
of sprint finishes.
But it is sport and however hard fought are the battles, people remain adversaries only on the track.
So there it is in black and white !
Here’s to next season.
