With over 2000 advanced ticket sales, it was great to see the crowds rewarded for their faith in the event by a day of glorious sunshine.
Ollie O’Donovan held sway in the RX150 buggies
while Paul Swift demonstrated that his prowess extends beyond 4 wheels to 2 (and back again)
And speaking of children of well-known fathers. . .
Paige Bellerby isn’t afraid to throw her Swift about in a manner that hints as to the origin of some of her genes!
Ash Simpson (Left)
and Russ Simpson both put the Merlin livery on display with some very spirited driving
Spectacular action in the Supercars was provided early in the day when Silvo Viitanen (Finland) rolled at Clervaux. I took my finger off the shutter and took
to my heels before the car went over. Viitanen was able to reappear later.
It was excellent to have enough Supercars for a couple of grids, which made for very competitive racing.
Andy Scott took third place in the final
behind Julian Godfrey
David Binks was beginning to put Liam Doran under considerable pressure until he had a violent meeting with the tyre markers which led to his instant retirement.
Doran, with his spectacular driving style, went on to take the victory after having survived an incident packed weekend.
I suspect that virtually everyone who attended would join me in saying,”More please.”
