Certainly rallycross resumed with a bang over the first November weekend. The long awaited return began with round seven of the the Quaife, MSA British Rallycross Championship on the Saturday.

A lot of time and effort had gone into relaying the loose sections.

There were cars and classes for young and old and indeed there was more than one family with multiple entries. Some of those of you with an interest in photography may be interested to know that the following picture was taken towards the end of the afternoon with an ISO setting of no less than 8000.

Overseas entries included Belgian, Jos Sterkens in his Volvo and Rally Legend Per Eklund.

There was excellent racing in all the categories. Was it the lack of seeing them for a couple of years or are the Supercars even quicker ?

Local preparation ace Tony Bardy had his hands full competing and looking after several of the cars. Here he leads the Ford of previous champion, Pat Doran, with its novel ventilation system.

North-Eastener, David Binks took the Fiesta to second in the Final.

Kevin Procter, Coach2.com grasped the Focus by the scruff of its neck and took fourth in the final just behind the Fiesta of Julian Godfrey who took first in the championship.

Andy Scott impressed, especially on the loose, winning the final and gaining second place in the championship standings, just ahead of Binks.

We always appreciate the marshals and officials, none more than this brave soul who resolutely waved the chequered flag.

Local Motorsport pundit, Larry Carter commentated from the lofty heights of the tower and continued to man his post as the light faded.
