After two years with Regional and National success racing Mini Bikes, Dan Linfoot moved up a gear to the 125cc class with many club racing wins at Croft under his belt and he quickly moved on to the national scene in 2004. It was a steep learning curve for the naturally talented young man from Knaresborough, but he finished a very creditable twenty-fourth overall. He excelled the following season finishing fourth overall in the British 125 championship, his highlight was being granted a ‘wildcard ride’ at the ‘monsoon like’ British Grand Prix at Donington Park, where he stunned the opposition crossing the finish line in a sensational ninth position. continue reading…
Since Dennis Hobbs won his first race on his road racing debut at Croft circuit in 1999 it was evident that the former fourteen times schoolboy Moto Cross champion was a force to be reckoned with. Paul Luti is a somewhat popular name within UK-based motorsport, especially towards the north of the UK. Being based in Scotland he is pretty limited in the ‘local’ circuit department, with only one major circuit in Scotland and Croft Circuit the only options available. Chris Wise has a long association with Croft Circuit, first as a spectator at rallycross events and in later years as a regular competitor. He’s brought to Croft Circuit some memorable battles driving his 1985 specification Metro 6r4. This synonymous car of the old Group B rallying era of the eighties, now in the hand of privateers, is a sight to be seen on full throttle around the challenging Croft Circuit. continue reading…
